Hungry eyes

Intimidated by beauty

It’s irrational fear

A means to do it justice

Always beyond out-stretched fingers

And thousand word phrases

Stare instead with hungry eyes

Struggle daily

To document and

Re-create in valid praise

The humblest of offerings

On an altar strewn with splendour

Stare instead with hungry eyes

Exhibited

In living galleries

Unfettered by cordon or walls of glass

It’s an awe that restricts

On strolls down its head-turning aisles

Reflected unworthy

From each mirrored surface

Head bowed turned away
